Yarloop Country Women's Association News

Hello to readers from the Yarloop Branch of CWA.  This is the first of what we hope to be regular news from the Yarloop Ladies.

Most locals would have, by now, seen that we have a new building on our site at 7 Station Street.  Built by TR Homes Australia to our requirements, the new building is modest and will serve CWA and the community needs for a long time to come.

We have a fully equipped commercial standard kitchen, two rooms suitable for consulting or small meetings, one large meeting area which can accommodate up to 20 people around tables and a fully functional disabled bathroom.   We hope to be able to utilise the building once the power, sewerage and water are connected and some fill provided at the front so a disabled ramp and handrail can be installed.

We have a few new local members who have joined as financial members and are learning how and what CWA is all about by immersing themselves in the activities the branch offers.  These activities include organising and carrying out catering activities, sewing, knitting, crochet, other craft activities, fundraising stalls, cooking demonstrations; the activities are only limited by our imagination.  Some of our members did really well, winning entries at the Harvey Show with their exhibits.  Some of these skills were learnt at CWA.

We would encourage any ladies who would like to know more about CWA to join us at some stage when we move back to Yarloop. You can attend three meetings/events as a visitor.

In the meantime, keep updated from the Facebook page @ YarloopCWA.
