My Health Records Community Information Session

Thank you to all who braved the weather on the 25th of May and attended our community information session on the new My Health Records program. A big thank you to the WA Primary Health Alliance ladies, it was a very informative session.

My Health Record is a national digital health record system which allows all your health information such as medical conditions, treatments, test results and scans can be available all in one place.

By the end of 2018, a My Health Record will be created for every Australian, unless they choose not to have one. If you don't want a My Health Record, you will be able to opt out of having one created for you during a three-month period in 2018. This period will run from 16 July to 15 October 2018.

The protection of patient information is critical and the My Health Record system has strong safeguards in place to protect the health data. It is also subject to some of the strongest legislation in the world to prevent unauthorised use.

If you were unable to attend the session but would like an information packet about My Health Records – pop into the Yarloop CRC at the Yarloop Sports Pavilion or visit www.myhealthrecord.gov.au
